*Please ensure we have your up to date contact details at all times.
WAITING TIMES
We are aware that people are busy and that no one likes to be kept waiting. We do our utmost to keep on time, but general practice is unpredictable. Urgent cases have to be given priority. Sometimes people's problems don't fit neatly into a 15 minute appointment, and this creates delays.
To minimise delays for others, we ask you to request extra time if you have complicated or time consuming problems. The fee may be adjusted accordingly.
If you feel you have been kept waiting an unreasonable time, please let one of our receptionists know.

24 hour blood pressure
monitor
A 24-hour blood pressure monitor, also known as ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM), is a device used to track blood pressure readings over a 24-hour period, providing a more comprehensive picture of blood pressure fluctuations than a single clinic reading. It's particularly useful for assessing "white coat hypertension" and identifying patterns of blood pressure changes throughout the day and night.

Drivers Licence Medicals
In New Zealand, drivers must be medically fit to drive. When applying for, renewing, or replacing a driver's license, a medical certificate may be required, particularly for those with certain medical conditions or for specific license classes like heavy vehicles or endorsements. This certificate, issued by a registered health practitioner, confirms the individual's ability to drive safely.

Travel Clinic
Welcome to Musselburgh Medical Centre Travel Clinic!
Whether you are off on an overseas adventure, or visiting friends and relatives in far-flung destinations, looking after your health when travelling is crucial to a safe and enjoyable trip.
At Musselburgh, we provide a comprehensive travel medicine service, not only for our enrolled patients, but also for anyone who wishes to seek travel medicine expertise prior to travel.
Services offered include:
-
Personalised travel advice, using up-to-date resources
-
Comprehensive review and provision of appropriate vaccinations for travel, including rabies and yellow fever

-
Advice regarding prevention of altitude sickness

Advice regarding travel med kits and prescriptions for recommended medications
Travel medicine involves consideration of the health needs of the individual traveller(s) and any risks associated with their planned travel. As such,
-
We recommend that you have a travel medicine consult about 6-8 weeks prior to your planned departure date, to allow adequate time for risk assessment, individual decision making and vaccine scheduling (some vaccines require more than one dose, at intervals of several weeks)
-
Even if you are making a last-minute trip, it is still worth taking appropriate advice prior to departure, as there may well be risks you haven’t considered and things we can do to help
As the recent global pandemic has demonstrated, disease outbreaks and the associated risks change over time, and it is very helpful to have detailed information about your trip prior to your appointment. We kindly request that you complete a pre-travel questionnaire beforehand, to enable us to best utilise our time and provide you with the most up-to-date advice.
Please complete and e-mail your pre-travel questionnaire, which can be found below in the Pre -travel Pack, to admin@mbml.co.nz. Reception will then be in contact with an allotted time.
